Hans Zimmer is a German film composer and soundtrack producer born on September 12, 1957 in Frankfurt am Main. A naturalized American citizen, he now lives in Los Angeles.
Active since the 1980s and gradually specializing in the composition of orchestral scores, Hans Zimmer is known for having composed the soundtracks of numerous successful films in a wide variety of genres. He has also composed music for many animated films, TV series and video games.
In 2022, Hans Zimmer won two Oscars for best film score (out of 12 nominations), for The Lion King (1994) and Dune (2021). In 2007, he was ranked by the British daily The Daily Telegraph as one of the world's greatest film music composers.
