dArtagnan is a German folk rock band from Nuremberg. The name of the band pays tribute to the historical character D'Artagnan, made famous by the novel The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas.
The band was formed in 2015 with Ben Metzner, a vocalist, but also a mandolin, bagpipe and flute player, and Felix Fischer, a guitarist and backup singer. Metzner and Fischer play in the rock band Feuerschwanz. Tim Bernard is also a guitarist and chorister. The band quickly gets a contract with Sony Music Entertainment. They hire producer Thomas Heimann-Trosien, who is known for producing albums by Schandmaul, Nightwish and In Extremo.
