Story

Sum 41 is a Canadian punk rock band formed in 1996 in Ajax, Ontario. Initially composed of Deryck Whibley (vocals, guitar), Dave Baksh (guitar), Cone McCaslin (bass), and Steve Jocz (drums), the band gained fame with the album "All Killer No Filler" (2001), propelled by the success of the single "Fat Lip." Their style blends punk rock, pop punk, and elements of heavy metal. They followed up with "Does This Look Infected?" (2002) and "Chuck" (2004), which featured darker themes.

In 2006, Baksh left the band, replaced by Tom Thacker. Sum 41 continued to release albums, such as "Underclass Hero" (2007) and "Screaming Bloody Murder" (2011), despite member changes and Whibley's health issues. In 2015, Baksh rejoined the band, and they released "13 Voices" (2016) and "Order in Decline" (2019), showcasing increased musical maturity. In 2022, they announced their breakup after a final tour and a double album, "Heaven and Hell," set for 2023, marking the end of an influential career in punk rock.
