Jim Morrison  

James Douglas Morrisonb, also known as Jim Morrison, is an American singer and poet, co-founder of the American rock band The Doors, of which he was a member from 1965 until his death.

A sex symbol with deliberately excessive behavior, he became a veritable rock idol, as well as an intellectual involved in the protest song movement, particularly against the Vietnam War, though he claimed no political allegiance. Attracted to shamanism, he earned a reputation as a “cursed poet”, which his premature death at the age of 27, in circumstances that remain unclear, transformed into a legend, notably the founder of what came to be known as the Forever 27 Club.

The cult of his fans, however, overshadowed a rich body of poetic work that Morrison himself may have considered his main activity, at least from the summer of 1968 onwards.
